About Dr Wong Wai Loong

Dr Wong Wai Loong was the previous Head of Department in Gynaecologic Oncology at KK Women’s & Children’s Hospital Singapore before he entered private practice. He started his career in O&G since 2006 and has been working in KK Hospital till 2022.

Dr Wong obtained his undergraduate medical degree from the National University of Ireland. He subsequently trained in the field of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and attained his specialist post graduate degree conferred by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (UK) and Master of Medicine in O&G (Singapore).

His passion for oncology started very early in his training. He had the good fortune to be trained by very experienced gynae-oncologists. He is skilled in both laparoscopic and open surgeries for cancer and benign cases. He received the MOH-Singhealth HMDP award to be trained in Robotic Gynae-oncologic Surgery in the UK.

As a testament to his dedication to the field of oncology, he was elected through the College of O&G Singapore as Chairman of the Section of Gynaecological Oncology in 2022. As a registered and certified colposcopist, he was elected to be the Vice President for the Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology Singapore (SCCPS) in 2024. He is also a council member of the Singapore Cancer Society.

Throughout his career at KKH, he has been an active member of the teaching

community. He was an Adjunct Assistant Professor for all three medical schools in Singapore. He was also a member of the core faulty for the O&G residency program at KK Women’s and Children’s Hospital.

As a father of three girls, he has become an advocate for women’s health especially in the field of screening and cancer awareness. He has given numerous public talks related to Women’s cancer and prevention.
