Endometrial cancer is treated by surgery. The uterus, both tubes and ovaries together with some lymph nodes are removed. Some may need to have radiation or a combination of chemotherapy and radiotherapy after surgery. For most of the early-stage endometrial cancer, surgery itself is curative.
4. How can I prevent endometrial cancer?
The risk of getting endometrial cancer can be reduced by taking oral contractive pills. By placing a hormone laced intra-uterine contraceptive device in the uterus also reduces the risk. Having a pregnancy also reduces the risk. Reducing weight is an important preventive strategy in preventing endometrial cancer.
